Jose's Dickson St. is in its 26th year of existence and Jose's Southwest Grille Springdale just had its two year anniversary. We've learned a lot of things during this time and would like to share a few of them with you. Cool? Here goes... Sucking up to our beer delivery guy still doesn't get us free beer. (The beer guy likes it though.) Dragging our feet across the carpet and then trying to light the chip fryer is not a good idea. (Yours truly.) We learned how to put a proper help wanted ad in the paper. Busy restaurant is looking for excellent servers (That will stay longer than two weeks) who enjoy people and smile (With a full set of teeth) without effort. You must be able to distinguish confusion from busy, be able to go with the flow... and have the gumption to not serve food that isn't up to our restaurant's high standards. You must care about the way you look and not wear perfumes or have other odors that make patrons want to barf. You must be able to leave personal problems (Good Luck) at the door. If you have a mate or spouse who interferes with your work... if you have a chemical dependency... have no sense of humor, or can't work weekends, please sail on by this ad and work for one of our competitors! If you have what it takes, apply in person when were not busy. Equal Opportunity Employer. Owning your own restaurant is suicidal. Rogaine is for your head, not your back. (Please don't picture this one) Habenero Peppers are not a good idea in kids food and do not make a good margarita garnish. The History Channel is not a wise choice to have on in your dining room when the Hogs are playing. And you were wondering how we ever made it in this business? Still haven't deleted yet? Cool. Read on! .............................................. We're putting the "Happy" back in Happy Hour! (Yappy Hour for those of you that won't shut up.) We have something going on every day of the week! Something's always happening at Jose's! Ole for Happy Hour! Monday- Margarita Monday All Swirls (frozen Sangria wine swirled with our frozen margarita in case you were wondering) are $3 during Happy Hour on Monday! It's Chalupa Monday!(What the heck is a Chalupa?) A deep fried flour tortilla filled with ground beef, beans, cheese, jalapenos, lettuce, pico and topped with sour cream and guacamole. Chalupas available on Mondays only, so don't miss out! Chalupa, Chalupa, Chalupa! (We just like saying it!) Tuesday- Tequila Tuesday We feature our tequila of the week for you crazy tequila connoisseurs... (Yep, I'm one of em!) We have the states largest selection of tequila! Become a Jose tequila snob by joining out tequila club. (The winos will be upset!) Thursday- Teacher Night at Jose's! Class is out and teachers get schooled on Happy Hour at Jose's. All teachers receive 10% off entire bill plus food and drink specials exclusively for the teachers. Class Dismissed! (I should have sucked up like this when I was in college.) Friday- Afterwork Network It's Friday and that only means one thing. Happy Hour! Tequila 101 Agave A distant relative of of the lily (Didn't know she had relatives?), but not in the cactus family (Divorced?). Agave plants are succulents with spiny, blue-green green leaves that grow out of a pineapple shaped base that take 8 to 12 years to mature. There are over 300 varieties, but only the blue agave, cultivated primarily in the state of Jalisco, is used to make tequila. ..............................................
